Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ConsoleKit collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you visit our website or use ConsoleKit.

Effective date: 31 August 2026

1. Who we are

ConsoleKit is a search analytics and workflow service. In this policy, “ConsoleKit”, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean the operator of the ConsoleKit service. For privacy questions or requests, contact legal@consolekit.io.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use ConsoleKit, we may collect:

  • Account and identity information: your name, email address, Google account identifier, sign-in records, and workspace membership.
  • Google Search Console information: the properties you authorise and Search Console performance data retrieved for those properties. ConsoleKit requests read-only access and does not edit your Google property or website.
  • Workspace information: property permissions, invitations, saved segments, notes, dashboards, SEO tests, sync status, and other settings you or your workspace members create.
  • Content and research information: drafts, prompts, research notes, URLs, and related analytics when you use Content or public-web research features.
  • Technical information: security and audit logs, device and browser information, approximate network information, and error or performance data needed to operate the service.
  • Public share information: published dashboard definitions, branding assets, share settings, and access records for links you choose to publish.

3. How we use information

We use information to provide, secure, maintain, and improve ConsoleKit; synchronise and display authorised Search Console data; manage accounts, workspaces, permissions, invitations, and billing; generate requested reports, summaries, and drafts; operate public shares and exports; prevent abuse and investigate incidents; communicate about the service; and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases

Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, we generally process information because it is necessary to perform our agreement with you, to pursue our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, to comply with legal obligations, or because you have given consent where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time where processing relies on consent.

5. Google and service providers

When you connect Google Search Console, Google processes information under Google’s own terms and privacy policy. We use infrastructure and specialist providers to host, store, send email, process authorised analytics, provide requested AI or public-web research features, and monitor reliability. We require providers to protect information and process it only for the services they provide to us. We do not sell your personal information.

6. Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Retention varies by data type and workspace settings. We use access controls, encryption for secrets, tenant and property permission checks, backups, and other safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to access, correct, delete, restrict, or provide a copy of your personal information, or object to particular processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. If you are in the UK, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

8. Cookies and local storage

ConsoleKit uses essential cookies and browser storage for authentication, security, preferences, and application operation. We may use limited analytics or similar technologies where configured and permitted. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling essential storage may prevent sign-in or core features from working.

9. International transfers

Our providers or infrastructure may process information outside the country where you live. Where required, we use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism and safeguards.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service or legal requirements change. We will post the revised version here and update the effective date. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to legal@consolekit.io.
